We’re All Just A Little Crazy

I’m thinking that the percentage of crazy is actually higher

It’s been HOT here in Southern California this week! I just couldn’t deal with another run in 90+ degree weather, so I decided that this morning I’d wake up and get out early (during the week I typically run after I bring my kids to school, so around 8:45). The thing is, my husband had to leave by 5:30 this morning, which meant that I’d have to be back before that.

I had a 6 mile progression run to do, so I figured I’d leave the house by 4:15, which would give me plenty of time. That meant waking up at 3:45. I see plenty of runners on Instagram getting up and running at that time, but it’s usually for a long run. I’m not sure what it says about me, that I woke up and ran at that time for a 6 miles. Dedicated? Awesome? Insane?

While it definitely wasn’t my best run (it was my slowest progression run ever), I’m still glad I got up early to run, since it’s pretty gross outside today.

Do you ever do things that make non-runners think you’re crazy?

  1. Bless your heart for even attempting to run in the CA heat. The heat there is NO joke! I grew up there. It can be unreal. Kudos to you for your athleticism! Go you!

    • Thank you!

Last week the weather here was actually beautiful (highs in the mid-70s). This week’s been awful, but it looks like next week should be nice again (thank goodness!!).

  2. That is CRAZY early, haha. The people at the gym look at me crazy because I run to the gym take a spin class and then run home!!! Have a great evening

    • Years ago when I used to go to the gym, I used to drive there, even though it was only a few blocks away from my house. That just seems so ridiculous now!
